| Debating |
|
Debating is the art of standing up and presenting a coherent argument in a clear and engaging fashion. This ability is essential for those of us pursuing a career in law - be it before a packed courtroom, a nervous client, a sleepy lecture hall or a demanding publisher – or a career in business – before a room full of executives or investors – and is vital for all of us when put on the spot in tutorials! Debating is more than a set of skills. Debating is also a set of opportunities. Like the opportunity to meet new, interesting and friendly people every week. Not to mention the opportunity to show your talent in Intervarsity competitions in Dublin, Limerick and Galway where the Society pays towards your weekend away! We’ll give you the opportunity to travel to competitions abroad too. The Law Society will be paying for delegates to travel to IVs in London, the European Universities Debating Championship in Amsterdam and the World University Debating Championships in Turkey. Come along to Speaker Development any and every Tuesday night and we’ll get you started or e-mail John @ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
