The Law Society, UCC places a huge importance on the area of Education as it ensures that law students are given maximum opportunity to benefit from the educational facilities of the University and are kept aware of the various career options available to them.
Let’s face it; college life is about having fun! And lots of it!! But, there is no fun in studying for repeat exams over the summer months, so if there is one piece of advice we would offer; it is to find a balance between your academic and social activities.
This year’s Education Officer is Ms. Deirdre Plant and so law students are in safe hands. The Education Officer is responsible for ensuring that the educational needs of all students are met. She represents law students on the Students’ Union and the Law Faculty Committee, amongst other committees, thus giving students their voice on the running of the college.
Throughout the year the Law Society organises milkround visits from some of the top legal and financial firms in Ireland. We also organise the Annual Law Society Careers Fair in October which attracts a large number potential employers and has proven to be very beneficial to students who are unsure of where their future careers lie.
If you have any problems, questions or suggestions during the year, do not hesitate to contact Deirdre or any other member of the committee.
